Hi Jon,
Have listened to your tracks online. Pretty good. I really liked the one about the mutants. You should do something about your drum sound, though. Something's wrong there. Either it's the way you've recorded the drums or maybe the guy playing them. Something's not right anyway. Listen back to those demos yourself - you'll see what I mean.
I'm in Bloomington now. It's pretty warm here. I met up with my uncle. He's got even stranger since I last saw him. He's got all these old car parts and bits of scrap in the garage and he's trying to build a hovercraft out of them. He's got a load of books and plans - it's all he talks about. My aunt just sighs when I ask her what she thinks about it. He seems happy, though - they both do.
I'm not doing much out here. I walked round the university campus yesterday and got talking to a few people - a couple of pretty girls and this red-headed guy who was studying politics. We had a bit of a debate about stuff in the Middle East, had coffee. It was nice.
Don't really know what I'm doing, long-term. Think I'll stay here for a week or two until I get some better ideas. Maybe give my uncle a hand with his project. It is kind of cool. After that, I might head up to Chicago, or maybe I'll just carry on heading west. Would be nice to hit the West Coast as summer gets started.
You sure you won't come out and join me? It'd be great to see you, catch up. There's some amazing stuff over here we could go and see. Let me know what you think.
Will write again soon,
D.
